Thanks, Robbie! It's supposed to represent an actual band performance/interaction, more or less, so hopefully that comes across.

It does in fact? What amazed me the most (as a bass player) is the sound of the upright by Mr. Kenny Kontakt? (interesting name, is he from one of those .DE countries?) He's very talented You should hang on to that gent... I'm hanging on to Mr. Markno999 like grim death... I'll be harder to leave than Glen Close in Fatal Attraction.

This is a nice addition to the songs area. It really sounds like a real band playing...the stick clicks before the end added to the realism. I like the stops in between the different sections..very well done. I second the realism and vibe on that bass...pretty cool stuff. The drums are right on. Great job man!

@ John - thank you! I usually do tunes "for the studio" but felt this would be better suited for a live feel. Good to know I'm in the ball park! @ Monty - thanks! Should I do a country-ish tune at some point I know who's site to listen to. :) @ Robbie - yes, Kenny is in fact a native of Germany. I hear also likes rabbit stew. @ Tim - thank you for the kind words. I really had fun putting this one together, and having good "instruments" to work with sure doesn't hurt.

Thanks, Lynn! I hadn't done anything remotely resembling jazz in a long time so figured it'd be a nice change. Plus it does seem to be a less than common genre around these parts.

Well done. This is kept interesting the whole way through. Instrumentation is well played and the track allowed to breathe. I thought the intro was a little loopy on the drums for jazz, which actually suited a more dance type track actually(I was hoping it was gonna go dancy actually!) .I would think of manually trying to add some subtle variations and dynamics to the intro drum section. There is a lot of work with arrangement, particularly drum arrangements towards the end which really fits the bill. Cian

Thanks, Cian! Funny, the intro was tweaked from its original pattern, but I probably spent the least amount of time on it vs. everything else (and particularly the last 30 seconds or so). So certainly no argument there! Thank you for listening.

SteveC . . . what a lovable little track ! Made me chuckle, very fun to listen to, and I don't think I've heard anything like this in a while. Rhythmically creative, unpredictable, yet there is a recurring theme . . . it's not only jazzy - it also has a lot of theatre about it. So . . . what, you just woke up in a jazz mood one day ? (I've heard your other stuff, and it's very different) I really like the way you have freed yourself from the 4/4 time signature.

@ Dan - Thanks! Even though there are only four tracks I did have to mess with the panning and width of each one to get them to sit right, or at least reasonably realistic! @ Ecurb - Thanks... I like "lovable". Being a jazzy type number I did want it to have a little "liveliness" in the performance and bit of unpredictability within the given framework. And yes, I more or less thought "hey, I like this acoustic bass sound, it bet it would work well in a jazz tune". Hey, whatever it takes. @ George - Thank you. I certainly was going for something a little different. Once it started to lock in the live thing just seemed like the natural thing to do. Unfortunately, though, I have no connection with the Mermaid and the Bouy - that was a bit of Forum Monkey business. I like that song!

Thanks, Jonas, I'm glad you enjoyed the tune! The distance aspect was intentional and very much an artistic choice. Colors and all that. Although at some point I may try a "closer mic'd" version just for fun. Thanks, Daryl! I enjoy trying to eek out "real" performances from virtual instruments, but mostly it's been orchestral type stuff in the past. Doing the same on a much smaller scale was definitely a change but a good one to do. I appreciate the feedback!

Very cool Steve. I thought the piano was too loud and wide when it entered but I got used to it as the song progressed. There was certainly the feeling of a large hall or maybe church type venue, which really suits the music. Keep going with that style, I think you have a flair for it.

@Gus - Thanks! And the band thanks you as well. @Wayne - Thank you! I can feel another tune in this style coming somewhere along the line... Funny, I thought the same thing about the piano but figured maybe it was an aural illusion since its level doesn't change that much over the course of the tune, and it's just that first few lines. I blame it on the venue.
