Static sound in background of Audio Import?

I've just purchase Music Creator 4! I've tried to import an MP3 to the program, but when I play it back there is a static sound that plays throught the music... I've played the original file on iTunes and Windows Media Player and it sounds fine. I've even converted the file to .wav, .wma, mp3 and it still has the static sound. When I slow the buffer size down in audio options the static sound slows down to a clicking sound. Any ideas how to fix this!

Any help would be great!

Thanks,

Matt

I'm not at home at the moment to see what the specs are, but I'll tell you what I know. The computer is pretty fast AMD 64 x2 2800, 2G Ram. The sound card is a Realtek HD and built into the mother board. The project specs are at default. And I import it in at default using File> import audio.

    Thanks,
    Matt

Do you have the original Cd that the Mp3 was ripped from? If so rip it again as a wave file and import that.

On a side note converting an Mp3 back to wave does not give you a full wave file, the lost material from the compression process to make an MP3 is not gained back.

What driver mode is MC set to, what sample rate are you using?

I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!

Sooner or later you'll notice that the onboard soundcard just isn't up to the task. The MME drivers are the worst ones, and that's all the Realtek understands. I recommend putting some cash aside for a proper soundcard, you won't regret.
