Static when using Pro-channels and izotope 4 plugins!

Hi, I'm currently running Sonar X1 and X2 on windows XP (I know X2 isnt supported on XP) My problem is whenever i use the pro-channels whether its the compressor or eq i get static during playback and when recording.

My System specs are as follows (2 gigs of Ram , Dual core(i think) Pentuim D 3.40ghz  processor with a soundblaster xfi platinum interface/soundcard on asio mode. I also Get static when i ever i use izotope 4 and have had that issue since i first started using x1. Same goes for x2.

Any Help or idea what i should do?

Sounds like you are pushing your audio card too hard.

If you peg back the latency for the card you will get better performance. You can do this through preferences (P)

more ram is always goo too

When tracking virtual instruments low latency is essential but if you are only recording audio you can set it high which makes life easy.

Bounce virtual tracks to audio as soon as they are recorded if your computer is not up to snuff, and only add the mix effects when all tracking has been accomplished. At this stage, when near zero latency is not required you can put the slider toi the far right and your pops/clicks will disappear.

Izotope 4 uses a lot of CPU power- you may only be able to run one instance, and only during the mixing stage.

Yea, it could be a driver issue with your sound card settings or it could be that you are actually clipping. Its one of those 2 things
