Great stuff. Chorus was perhaps simplistic but effective in many ways. Loved the verse.

thanks kakku! for listening and commenting... "Chorus was perhaps simplistic"..........!! bing bing bing, you are the winner! that was the goal... there is so much on the album that is NOT simplistic, that this had to be. taken in the whole, this sits perfectly in the middle of a lot going on. and as it is, the music for "Stay" is still pretty complicated, i'm trying to have at least 3 melody lines going at once, which was tricky to make happen and groove at the same time, a lot of folks just don't pick up on that, but as long as they can shake their @ss to it, it's good.

This is awesome. Love the playing, recording and lyrics. Very polished. I don't know if it turns you off to hear "comparisons" when it is clearly your music, but I can't help but comment that there is some kind of Steely Dan meets David Crosby mood in there - no specific songs but more the voicings on both the vocals and chords. It's really, really good.

Nice drifty mood Bats, I like that almost hip-hop beat and the bass groove. A hint of Yes, a little Steely Dan as Manny mentioned. Lush guitar tones throughout, quite a deceptively detailed mix, I imagine a lot of work to get it sounding as nice as this.

hey james, hip hop, yea, that's kinda how this thing started..... the bass groove is a little more jazzy..... but the beats were straight hip hop way back when i first programmed it into this cheezy little drum machine (Zoom123) but i liked the Lo-Fi sound of it, and kept it. there are a LOT of guitar tones!! heheh, kinda like a smorgasborg, but all clean tones. the actual tracking was FAST. but the mixing took forever. just because i experimented so much. but if you boil it all down, and just took the faders all down, and brought them back up, it'd pretty much be the same

sorry daryl.... i'm not planning on leaving any of these songs up for more than 3-4 days, i'm just trying to give folks a chance to hear the entire song. the cdbaby website, and iTunes and amazon for the matter, feature 30 second clips, but it aint the same! the artwork, i painted that myself... acrylic on glass, 12"x12", it symbolizes something from each and every one of the songs on the album.

Ordered the cd this morning. 1cent shipping! what a deal! I hope they are selling like hotcakes. Your talent is breathtaking. As soon as all of the Christmas parties are done I am going to work on the one we recorded at your house. What a great experience and memory!

My biggest complaint is that there isn't more. :-)
StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen. I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.
