FXpansion's Tremor is currently 33% off (cheaper than FX's website!)

There's also something called the Cakewalk Loop Manager (which I did a search for, but nothing came up), which is free!

Steam has a few other interesting bits of software which might be worth checking out (e.g. the Sandman delay/looper).

    Thanks Ston.
Are there any issues with registration/authorization when getting it from Steam? I've heard some Sonar users having registration problems when they got Z3ta or some Pro Channel plugin (can't remember which) from Steam.

I have a Steam account, but I only buy games there. Yet, I've only been playing is TF2 (which is free) and I'm totally hooked :)) although I have about 60 paid games (a lot of GOTY versions).

Do you game on Steam? (I'm Meshodman on Steam).

I only own one piece of 'Steam software' which isn't a game (Game Maker Studio), so I can't really comment on whether there'd be any registration related issues.

I've been very impressed with Geist which I bought off FX a while ago but have only just started using in earnest, which is why Tremor caught my eye.  Also seeing the words 'Cakewalk' and 'free' together made me think I should make a post here (although perhaps I should have put the post in 'Deals' rather than 'Software'?  I'd forgotten about that forum).

I do game on Steam (my Steam games folder is nigh-on 1TB of data now!), I think I should be 'stonberg' so feel free to add me :-)

Yeah, I've heard very good things about Geist and it's on a short list of tools I want to get. I do have Maschine's Mikro MK2 and would like to map out AD2 into the pads, but don't really know how to go about this.....will have to search a bit.

Will be adding you on Steam :))....

I love Geist so much I'm tempted to buy this. The design of Geist impresses me every time I use it, it's been so well thought out and although it isn't perfect, you know that it's been put together by people who have thought a lot about workflow. My dream would be for fxpansion to collaborate with Rayzoon for a more user friendly, slicker version of Jamstix

So I've heard great things about Tremor and I already know how great fxpansion design is. At this point I really need someone to talk me out of it because I sure as hell shouldn't be spending the money.

I've already got Sonic Charge's MicroTonic, which I think covers what Tremor offers pretty well.  MicroTonic also has a tutorial video by Dan Worrall, which automatically makes everything 100% better.  The Patternarium is an additional touch of genius which sets MicroTonic apart.

Perhaps this thread isn't the place for it, but I'd be interested in your thoughts on how to best integrate Geist in a DAW.  As it has so much sequencing capabilities itself, do you tend to use the DAW to sequence it, or press its 'go' button?  I'm in two minds atm, thus far I've been driving patterns across the engines using 8x MIDI tracks rather than let Geist handle the sequencing.
