"Steaming" Cakewalk?

I know this is not the right page for the Music Creator 6 version, but has anybody noticed MC6 is available on Steam? I mean - Steam is for games, but it also has paint programs etc. thus MC6 is not that strange. But Cakewalk on Steam? Do you think this is a wise move? I am really curious to see what you all think about that...

Who would have guessed? LOL... ;-). Anyway - It was nice, but also a little bit surprising, to see MC6 (and so Cakewalk) popping up on Steam. It's not a place where you would expect to see a DAW. But yes - it could be a wise move indeed...

I was bummed out when I first saw Sonar Studio at a Micro Center.  But I got over it.

This is a TOTALLY WONDERFUL idea.
Why not also put SONAR X Series onto the Steam?

LOL Because it was you I am glad. What bothered me was no other "quality" program was along side it. It was with $49 Magix programs or the like.

I bought my first CW's Professional 8 from GC. At least it was a music store.

But as I said I got over it. LOL

Pretty sure it was an impulse buy. Had read about Cakewalk MIDI software. I was still playing live and recording on tape either at home or friends studios.

I drove 5 hours south to Thoroughbred Music to buy Cakewalk Pro Audio 6... in a 1967 VW Beetle.

    No fooling.

    Those were the days.

As long as we are making confessions. I bought Music creator 6 at Best Buy about 1 1/2 years ago. A lot of money has went under the bridge since then!

Nice move Cakewalk!  Hopefully Sonar will be on there too one day.

I can see more and more companies doing this cloud thing for copy protection and distribution.

    Steam has incredible sales too.

It is a good move.  Masses of people see Cake in MC, Fry's, Best Buy's etc.  Other's on online sites.  Some will buy "to do music."  Improves the bottom line for Cake and brings in potential new users.  What is not to like?
