Step Sequencer does not show pattern via session drummer 3

1) Create a track with Session Drummer 3 and step sequencer.
2) Play the track back. Close session drummer/step sequencer/rewind the transport.
3) Select the track
4) Click View -> Step Sequencer and observe your pattern within the sequencer.
5) Close the step sequencer
6) Right click the track -> View -> Step Sequencer and observe your pattern within the sequencer.
7) Close the step sequencer
8) Now double click this piano icon in the track to bring up Session Drummer 3
9) Click the "Step Sequencer" icon at the top right hand corner
 
EXPECTED
 
As (4) and (6) step sequencer should be displayed with your pattern.
 
ACTUAL
 
Step sequencer is displayed but does not display any pattern.

    The step sequencer button in the SD GUI is intended to create a new, empty SS clip. As soon as you start clicking cells, you should see a new clip appear in the track.

    EDIT: See the Note at the bottom of page 1719 of the X1 Reference Guide - found by searching on "Step Sequencer Button".

    OK this may be an enhancement request....

    I don't see what needs to be enhanced. Clicking the button the synth properties creates a new clip instance, and double-clicking an existing SS clip opens it in SS view. I see no need for any change.

    This brings up the piano roll view for me (I'm sure I'm being a dumb ass here). Could you be more specific?
