Stereo Mix Only Records Static

This only started happening a month or 2 ago, but switching to Stereo Mix does not record the computer's sound anymore.
 
I have the latest drive from Realtek, also.
 
It's just a high decibal reception, but no sound.  Just a few staticky clicks now and then when I record.

    Where are you selecting Stereo Mix?
    What are you trying to record?
