Sticky Note - Feature request

I would like to suggest a Sticky Note feature addition (like the one in Windows, maybe?).
My idea:

A choice for the Sticky-note to display with:
1) a VST plugin in an individual project, a Sticky note (ready for a user message to be typed).
2a) if the plug-in is Cakewalk's, then the plug-in could have a Sticky already attached.
2b) if the plug-in is a third party, the the sticky would have to be added by the user.

Also, but less importantly:
When one opens a Sonar project, a Sticky note would appear, (like the one in Windows, maybe?),
either:
2) in a particular Cakewalk Sonar project
3) with every project

Point 1 - example: I have an Eq with some idiosyncracies that I am liable to forget because I don't use it a lot. A sticky note that would accompany the opening of that plug-in would be very helpful.
This suggestion is not effectively addressed with the current note areas available.

Point 2 and 3) general comment - the "Info" choice under "Projects" is too easily hidden.

Thanks for listening,
Ray Spagnuolo

May be this would help Sonar already has a Info box just hit Project>>Info here you can write anything you want and even save it to your finished project.

    Hi Red,
Thanks for the suggestion, but it wouldn't address my issue.

1)The Project>Info could not be attached to a particular plug-in and
    2) the Sticky note I envision, being attached to a particular plugin, would be a reminder in every situation that it was called up, no matter how infrequently it is used.

    Thanks for your input,
    Ray

    Interesting suggestion!

Just want to double check that you are aware that every channel nowadays has a text note field called "Description", that you can see in the Investigator (press "I"), it's at the bottom in the Track section. I use that for noting weird side chain routings or plugin behaviour...

    Cheers!

I give this a 5 as I really like the idea of stick notes, but it needs further thoughts, so the community should contribute ...

Just 2 things that come to my mind would be to be able to attach them to the most relevant Sonar objects (e.g. clips, FX, knobs, quick groups, ...) and allow different colors, so you could have sticky notes along your track view in red e.g. where you still need to edit something, have sticky notes on some FX (where you could list e.g. alternative presets/templates to consider later), have sticky notes on buses that route to some external gear / headphone mixes ...

A "collapse" feature like with Excel comments would be needed, just like "collapse all", etc

    Hello Rob,

Wow! You articulated and expanded my idea so well that I could say that it is now your idea, too. LOL!

This is very good one. Since we are expanding Rspagnuolo idea let me add the need for a photo attached to a track or even clip. This would save me from making notes of hardware knob settings used on a given track, like guitar amps for example.

I requested a similar feature a few months ago - hopefully we'll see it soon!

I remember the earlier request, and I still think it's a good idea.  Unlike the text fields, a sticky note provides a good way to signal project management issues.  Working on a project, I have a mental to-do list and because a lot of ideas seem to come at once, I'd like a way to record them until the appropriate time to execute them.

Likewise, if I was sharing work on a project, it would be a good way to flag issues the next time someone else opens the project.  Good idea! +1
