Still Have Issue of No Audio After Rewinding from Record State

This is something that showed up in S8, but is probably more related to my switch to x64 (and thus the unruly x64 driver for my E-MU 1820m) which I did shortly afterward.

Meters show activity on input echoed audio tracks, but there's no sound until I cycle the audio engine after rewinding. Not a problem if I rewind after stopping from playback state - only when stopping from Record state (either MIDI or Audio). No amount of playing around with SONAR settings or AUD.INI parameters ever helped.

Time for a new interface.

I'm still seeing this too.  I get it on initial launch into Sonar (engine is on, midi is flashing, no sound) and after rewinding playback too -- if you hit the "W" key to rewind to 00:00:00, sound stops playing, even though the engine is live, midi data is coming in.  Cycling playback or the engine is required to get sound coming out to midi events.  I gave up trying to troubleshoot it.  Cakewalk techs weren't able to get to the bottom of it and I gave up.  It could be related to my template, which I'm not going to give up.

I went a round with one of them too (only the second time I've called them since Cakewalk 1.0). Seemed like a sharp guy, but had no more ideas than what I had already tried. Since I only get it when rewinding from stop after recording, I've gotten in the habit of switching out of Record mode with R before stopping the transport. I also keybound the audio engine so I can toggle it on and off easily.

I'm pretty sure this is an interface driver issue, but I haven't tried another DAW to see if there is any contribution to the problem by SONAR.

Resurrecting this ancient thread of mine because I still have this issue after switching to MOTU 2408mkII/PCIe-424. I thought getting a new interface from a different manufacturer would surely resolve the issue, but lo and behold, I picked the one other interface reported by another user to also have this issue.

    Unbelievable.

I know there must be some interoperability issue with my DAW because obviously not all EMU 1820m and MOTU 2408 users have this issue. In fact, IIRC, the other poster in this thread somehow got the problem to go away at some point.

Oh well, I'm overdue for a new DAW, anyway.

I don't really expect any solutions to be forthcoming for this; just venting. Thanks for listening.
