Still have to configure audio FX as Synth in X3 ? [Solved]

Hi folks,
 
I thought I read somewhere that in X3, that you can send MIDI to "AudioFX" VSTs without having to set the "Configure as Synth" property in the plugin manager for the FX.
 
Well, I can't work it out ... and can't find where I thought I might have read that either.
 
Was I dreaming ?.
 
If so, please wake me up :-)

    I do not believe it is necessary anymore. There are options on the VST menu in the plugin header to enable MIDI input/output. See the bottom of this page.

    Thank you Steve - so I wasn't dreaming then :-)
     
    That's awesome, and it works perfectly - just enable MIDI input from the drop down on the plugin GUI - how easy is that.
