Stirring Brush Pattern

Does anyone know how to get a stirring brush effect on Session Drummer 3 or EZDrummer?

I would think you need a sample library that features that sound.

Jim Roseberry at Studio Cat has a brushes library that is quite nice.

But, it's way too fancy for Session Drummer's primitive play back engine.

Yes, you would need an actual sample for that.

Would Cinesamples Session Drummer Series work in SonarX1 or do I have to buy Kontakt 4 to play it in SonarX1?

P.S. - Thanks for the help so far

You would have to buy Kontakt. Even though it has Session Drummer in the name, that product has nothing to do with the Session Drummer synth included in SONAR.

Don't know if it'll suit your purpose but there is a stirring brush in SD3 - in Groovy Kit Brushes at Eb.  Previously it seemed to have some sort of bug as when triggered from a MIDI kbd it wouldn't respond to any 'off' signal but that seems to have been 'cured' now.

Real Jazz is a MIDI Groove Library (no audio samples), but it works well with sample libaries like BFD Eco:

    http://www.fxpansion.com/index.php?page=103

    and their Jazz Maple kit.

    http://www.fxpansion.com/index.php?page=125

This has a special additional sweep available from us when you buy Real Jazz for BFD Eco which you can load into a Percussion slot.

The trick with programming brush sweeps is to have the sweep on a different slot in the software, otherwise a "Hit" will truncate the "Sweep".

We have tested Real Jazz  GM with Superior Drummer, BFD2, BFD Eco and EZDrummer and it works well with all of them, with EZDrummer (and the Jazz EZX) use 2 instances - loading a second instance of the snare to avoid the sweep being truncated by the Hit.

The Maple Kit includes a $5 off coupon for Real Jazz.

    Thanks,

    Rail

It is important to remember that the stirring and swirling brush techniques can only best be replicated in a sample library if the playback is tempo sensitive.

Most percussion sample sets can run at any tempo but brushing works differently.

The advanced libraries that are made for powerful samplers like Kontakt can be scripted to be tempo sensitive.

    best regards,

Does that mean the the included Session Drummer does not have said capibility.  Is in only available in Kontakt and/or BFD2?
