Stomach virus....

I hope you don't catch it. It started about 3:30 AM Tuesday morning... 9 hours on my knees. I burned my vocal chords so badly that no one could understand anything I said until Wednesday. Fever dead on 100F all day Tuesday. Low temp off and on ever since. Still on saltines and gatoraid diet though I thought I was better and ate a half can of chicken and wild rice soup and a small salad yesterday but I paid for it early this morning... so back to the saltines and gatoraid for another day.

I do not know what this bug is but it is the most violent virus I remember having, even as a child. I lost 5 pounds in one day. My voice is getting better but I still hoarse, whispery.

Whatever this is... I really hope you don't get it. I hear it is making the rounds around here. I have not even felt like turning on the laptop until today but I think I am going to live... though I was wondering for a little while.

Be careful, this is a BAD one.

Yikes!  I had that a few years ago on Christmas Eve.  I went to the ER  around 4am when I woke up in a sweat and spots all over my face.  They gave me something that knocked me out on Saturday and I didn't wake up until Monday evening.

It wasn't any fun at all.

    Good luck, Jbow.

Thanks guys... I think I have turned the corner. About an hur ago I ate some regular food. I am hoping for and good morning. I need to make a road trip to see my parents for Christmas but I can't be taking something like this to them. It wouldn't be a nice gift. I'm staying on the gatoraid though.

    Thanks again!

    Sounds like Norovirus to me.

I think you are right. I Googled it and it sounds right and it is my own fault. I did something I never do... and I really don't know why I did it. On Monday I ate at a buffet with my daughter. I was getting a couple of fried chicken drumsticks. I was using the tongs and I dropped one on the metal shelf where you might put your plate and where they come along with rags and wipe every few minutes. Normally (and from now on forever) I just leave it and get another but I got some wild thought about it being my fault and not wasting their food so I tried to pick it up again with the tongs and managed to rub it around on the surface, knocking some of the breading off, while trying to pick it back up. Who knows how long they had used the rags they clean those places with and what they had wi[ed up before... I cannot believe I did that.
Normally, I wont eat leftovers that have been in the fridge for over a few days and would never do what I did but in a moment of brain 4rt... abut some misguided duty...

    Never again... never.

Thanks for the headsup Wizard. I guess I need reminding now and then about things but I think I have learned this lesson for good.
