Story Time! Touch Screen and X1- so far.....

So, I recently bought a 23" touch screen monitor to try it out with X1.  In particular, I wanted to use it with the few things that I can't control with my MCU Pro and C4 control surfaces (by Mackie).

Item 1 - Profire 2626 Control Panel/Mixer
The buttons and knobs work flawlessly- very smooth and sexy.  Operating it with the touchscreen is viable.

Item 2 - ProChannel
Since this is not a VST, it cannot be controlled with the C4 :(        For some reason, it  is also not practical to control it with the touchscreen because the operation of the knobs is very "jumpy", or "jittery".
I dont get it; with the mouse, the knobs turn smooth and evenly, but when I drag my finger (which the computer should understand as "mouse", it responds unpredictably.

So, I am sad.

I shelled out a few hundred bucks for this monitor and it wont do me much good for now.

Is this behavior something I should report to the Bakers?
If so, how should I do it since it's not technically a bug?
Or is it?

Comments and questions appreciated.

BTW- All my VST plugins work fine on the touchscreen, but I prefer using the C4 for those...
I'm still playing around for now....

"Try before you buy" is usually a good rule of thumb.

    BlixYZ,

I assume the touch screen has its own driver and, like most mouse drivers, you may be able to adjust the "sensitivity" (they may call it something else). Try accessing the driver and play around with the available adjustments to see if you can't tame it down.

    Good luck.

What I 'm interested in is how have you positioned the touch screen, and how does it feel to use it several hours at a time?

Concerning touch screens the biggest source of doubt to me has been how can one work with arms lifted for days, when any accidental touch (sleeve, dropped pen, wrist, other fingers) can sabotage your edits.

I also believe that there's a sensitivity setting to adjust the response of the screen, but if it works the way you want with other programs, then it's propably something else.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.
