    This and Sun Ra all in the same day.

    Sounds cool, sometimes I forget it's backwards.

    Thanks Mike. All of the guitars in the part before the drums come in, are backwards with the exception of the bass and the little ditty that shows up randomly throughout.

    Thanks.

    Something clicked (or snapped some may say) in my head the first time I heard this and I've been fascinated with recording in this style ever since.

    Interesting piece. Does seem to remind me of Sun Ra to an extent...me thinks you are channeling him somewhat

    Very cool.

    This was very cool Bub!

    The delay on the lead guitar after the drums kick in gets a little overwhelming to my ears - besides that, it sounds great.

    The backwards stuff is quite an accomplishment! Well done! Not bad for a man with an axe in his head

    LOL

    i dig this kind of stuff, of course, it taps into my love for hendrix, and he did this stuff all over electric ladyland, this has insprired me to write some psychedelic stuff....

    combo of backwards and forwards on top of each other, if i can figure it out.

    love the solo stuff near 1:40

    @foxwolven: Thanks!

    @scottytunes: Thanks!

    @ProjectM: Glad ya liked it. Yeah, the effect on the guitar is a touch heavy.

    @Rimshot: Yeah, the message is, bring back Bapu 1.0. ;)

    @Lynn: Glad you liked it. It was a lot of fun.

    @Wookie: It's all second hand s........ I've been doing lately. ;) Glad you liked it.

    @dubdisciple: Thanks for listening, glad you liked it.

    @batsbrew: That's awesome that it inspired you. Thanks!. It's not easy to do this backwards stuff, a lot of trial and error. :) I think it was easier when I did it on tape. You have to be thinking ahead and think backwards on everything. Bends start high, etc etc.

    @jamesyoyo: Thanks James. That's quite a compliment.

    Loved it Bub.

    This is not a crit, but the bass in the intro is a tad stringy for me, too bad it can't be more Hofner/McCartneyish.

    Yes, I hear what you mean about the bass part. I wasn't completely happy with it but couldn't seem to work anything else out. The bass and the lead part when the drums kick in were done in one take, off the cuff freestyle.

    Robby.
    Hey Robby,

    All the guitars and bass were run through an ART MPA Pro II Ref Series Pre and ART VLA II Comp, both tube driven.

    I used the old Cakewalk Amp Sim and Sonitus Modulator (EDIT-and Sonitus Reverb) on everything except the bass and the forward lead in the second half. IIRC the forward lead part was the 'Ya Ya' preset in Guitar Rig 4 Pro.

    I love the sound of that Cakewalk Amp Sim, especially if you have a tube driven preamp going in to it.

    The bass is dry with a lot of boost to the highs.

    I just thought of this, but this is the first recording I've done with this particular guitar. It's a late 80's Korean made Strat, everything original, pup's and all. The bridge has Fender stamped on the saddles which is odd for the Korean made ones. It's not a Squire, but a Fender Strat. I rarely play it because the bridge is too loose and it goes out of tune very easily and I never took the time to tinker with it.

    I used a comp technique I recently discovered by accident. I use extreme threshold with low ratio. I'm sure this is an age old technique, but I just discovered it and so far I'm digging it. I use Sonitus Comp.

    dude awesome,that sums it up in that word..awesome..
    your music has a great value that leans towards sound tracks,at least for me when i listen to this song it tells a story...the story plays out in my head and each piece is very valuable to the next.
    felt like i was driving down the highway just looking out the window,through all 50 states.
    got a really cool zappa feel to it...zappa is the god of all hypnotic rock.
    i can see why you only put out a song every few months,you put major effort into your songs.

    telling you,a movie company could make you millions with this song,
    this would make a great video.in black and white.then leading into color when the drums kick in.
    told ya i see a story.

    great job man.
    cant wait for the next one,dont make us wait as long next time.
    although keep taking your time as long as they come out as good as this.

    Just a side note about this song, and all the songs I record. I never imitate or try to mimic any single artist or group, except when I'm doing a cover.

    This particular piece just came to me suddenly out of nowhere, which is where 100% of the music I do comes from, except when I'm doing a cover. If the chord structure and lyrics don't come to me within a 15 to 20 minute time frame, I lose interest and it gets scrapped.

    Ah but that is the sign of a true artist and why I was saying be carful because you were getting stuck into the obama vid, which is also true art.

    You may disagree with me but I have my handle on art LOL.
