Are you guys noy up on your ZZ discography? "TV Dinners" is a ZZTop tune. Sounds like Bill inundated with rain (or something else) was playing a medley.

Sure, Bill. It's O.K. to mix it up like that. I'd prefer to do it in reverse order. Kick out the ZZ on the strat and then switch up to the Classical guitar. Classical guitar and Rainy Days probably go better. For kicks, I would get out the 12-string and do a couple Gordon Lightfoot and Leo Kottke songs as well .... And then you can drink Steve's Beer when your done!

Are you/they practicing to the song order for a gig? If not, and you're just practicing the songs at random with the song order to be set later. I would think that it's like post count--it matters not, to Bapu anyway. Tap makes a good point about grouping them so the band doesn't have to switch instruments so often.

I find it best if the guitarist stays on guitar, the keyboardist stays on keys and the drumist stays at the bar... I've seen a few bands where nearly everyone swapped instruments. Sometimes it works--sometimes it doesn't. Then again, back in the 80's, I saw a few New Wave--all synth--groups where you couldn't tell who was taking a solo because you had 5 guys playing keyboards and one guy on electronic percussion.
