Strange audio format...

I received a large project to mix. It contains audio files with the w64 format. Can Sonar open those? Or do I need something else. I have a suspicion it's recorded in Cubase. I need to convert these I suppose. Any suggestions?

Cakewalk Sonar Platinum Windows 7 32bit & 64bit (dualboot) Gigabyte mobo Intel dual quad 9650 & 4GB Ram RME DIGI9636 & Tascam DM24.  M-audio Rbus & SI-24 Alesis Pro active 5.1 & Radford 90 transmissionline monitors. Roland RD-150 piano Edirol UM-880 & alesis fireport.
Remote recording Alesis HD-24 & Phonic MRS 1-20.

    There is one fast way to find out, Import them and see what happens.

    It's a Wave 64 extension. Sonar should handle them just fine.

    I do get a direct show error.... I'm on a windows 8 64 bit system.

    The error code is Direct show error [0x80040265]

    I'm now using foobar to convert the audio to wav... But that should not be nessesary. Or is w64 cubase different from w64 in Sonar... That would be sad.
