Strange driver display

Just noticed an unusual difference between sonars 32bit and 64bit driver display.
I have an emu-0404 and in sonar 8.5 32bit the drivers are listed as
EMU-ASIO-OUT 1/2   EMU-ASIO-OUT  3/4    EMU-ASIO-OUT  5/6  and so on.

But, in both sonar X1 and 8.5 64bit they show up as,
EMU-ASIO-OUT 1 (x2)    EMU-ASIO-OUT  3 (x2)  EMU-ASIO-OUT 5 (x2)

Over the weekend I had to reformat and reinstall windows and previously all three versions displayed the drivers
as they are displayed in Sonar 8.5 32bit. Which I much prefer.

When I want to record the inputs used to display the propper names for the SPFIF inputs (which it still does in 32bit sonar) but instead it just gives me, left 1 right 1 stereo 1, left 2 right 2 stereo 2 and so on.

I deleted the aud.ini has no effect, I had expected sonar to reprofile the sound card but it didn't.
It's not a major problem and I'll get used to it in time but if anyone knows why it should be different and even better, how to get it how it was I'd be a much happier camper.
Cheers

Steve

This is how the E-MU x64 driver (maybe with "help" from Win7?) presents the ports to SONAR. One of several deficiencies of E-MU's x64 driver that have never been addressed.

    SONAR's "Friendly naming" can help.

Thanks for the quick response. That's weird as I'm sure it wasn't like that before and everything is back just how it was this time last week although I think I might have found some newer drivers for the 0404 which I thought could have been the cause. Still it suddenly dawned on me after posting that I could edit the driver names anyhow and select, "show friendly names" which is what I've just done. Perhaps that's what I'd done before but forgotten. Cheers

Under XP, the E-MU driver for my 1820m showed SONAR the names in the "scribble strips" in Patchmix, and only revealed the ports that were actually part of the Patchmix Session. When I moved to Win7 x64 and the x64 drivers, I got a generic list of 16 Input and 16 Output pairs listed like this:

    E-MU ASIO ASIO In 1
    E-MU ASIO ASIO In 3
    E-MU ASIO ASIO In 5
    ...
    E-MU ASIO ASIO In 31

This caused a lot of trouble because my existing projects didn't recognize the I/O anymore. But changing the friendly names to match the original scribble strip names resolved the problem.
