Stuck Midi Notes: Solution

Over the past few years I had posted a few times about having trouble with stuck midi notes either within Sonar itself, or when using a 2nd computer for samples.  During that time frame a few other users reported similar issues.
 
At present I am using a second computer for all samples, so I have not done any testing using samples within Sonar on the main DAW.  The problem with the hanging, stuck notes appears to be fixed.
 
The issue turned out to not really be Sonar related at all, but rather traced to my M-Audio midi interfaces.  Some months back I replaced them (after dropping one of them about three feet onto the floor and thereby breaking it) with a pair of Cakewalk's UM-3G's, and things have (so far) been fine.
