Studio Instruments

Trying to fathom out Studio Instruments - do I install as a VST in MC4?

I do not have SI but if there is no DXI version, then you will need to use the VSTi.

    Cheers

    Rob,
Yes, you should see it as a VST in MC.
Don't forget to run the VST scan after you install, so MC can see the new stuff.

Sorry if this is OT, but how do you like your Alesis monitors? I have a lead on a used pair in town.

    No problem, Rob.
I have the passive version. They make an active version with the same designation.
I love 'em. You do need a seperate power amp capable of supplying 120-150 watts per channel, with 4 ohm outs.
Don't try to drive them with an 8 ohm amp. They WILL eat it. (This is true of any 4ohm speakers)
I drive them with a Samson Servo 300 power amp. It's a nice combnation.
The 6 1/2" woofers are not huge, but have a strong enough low end that the lower frequencies are well represented without a subwoofer. Good detail on the sound, and most importantly, they give a representation of my mixes that I can trust. what I hear in the studio translates well to any other system that I have been able to play the tracks back on.
If you have a suitable power amp, or don't mind spending about $200 on one, I think you would like these.
If you are looking at the active version, they have slightly less power, but appear to be built with the same drivers.
