LOL... the "No LANDR??? Thank Christ!!!" just streamed by in the chat window a few minutes ago, what a riot.

Dave76 It looks like they mainly pulled in a bunch of features from competing DAWs rather than introducing anything really groundbreaking. Not necessarily a bad thing. I would be a very happy camper if SONAR got the arranger features, the scratchpad, and the ability to easily create parallel FX chains that Studio One just got.
That's what they all do except for Reason. You can't drag and drop a midi on an instrument track or change an instrument. The one who is really unique in developing is Image Line.

I kinda felt a let down today during the webinar. I think that the marketing hype is becoming so extreme that there is little chance the released product will ever meet or exceed the potential Customers expectations. This is not just a practice of Presonus but of several developers. The Marketing Hype is completely removing any Wow Factor the products could ever provide.
Purrrfect Audio DAW here. Wow!...

I dont agree. Hype yes but more than 50 new features for free and many of them significant so yes this was a great release. Watch the Studio One Expert video on it if you own it and you will get the idea.

Since 3.1, S1 has been stable for me, and it's easy to use. I really like it. Also, it works with all of my control surfaces, unlike Sonar.

Conversely all my DAWs (SONAR, Mixbus 3.1, Reaper and Studio One 3.x) work with my FaderPort.

Sonar works with my Faderport. But, it has trouble with my Novation 25SL, and automap software. I can run one or the other, but not both. I spent a lot of time trying to get both of them to run together, and it just won't happen consistently. S1, Cubase Pro 8.5, and Reaper have no problem running both at the same time.

Should I assume you called technical support or not?

I didn't have time because of work to do it, but was in contact with two other people here on the forum. Neither of them could get the two to work at the same time either, and they were both dealing with technical support. I may give it a shot in the future, but until ACT is rewritten, I doubt it will work. It's really odd because they will start off working, but then it just seems to get corrupted. The fader will work, but not the transport controls, or faderport works fine and the 25SL quits sending midi.

Def strange. I can say this; in SONAR I could not get my FW-1884 to operate in native mode while I have the FaderPort installed. FW-1884 works just fine in SONAR when FaderPort is not installed. However The FW-1884 is not supported in native mode in Reaper & Mixbus 3.1. Not sure about Studio One. Hence why I went with the FaderPort as my main controller. I have not tried the FaderPort and Tranzport simultaneously in SOANR (yet). That's of less concern to me than having FaderPort work in all my DAWs

This release is amazing. The new automation is breathtaking. How could anyone tolerate Sonar's atrocious automation with an alternative like this? And unless I'm wrong Sonar has neither VCA faders nor anything like the Console Shaper. And this is all coming in a free point release. It's brilliant. Won't be touching Sonar other than to export old started projects into S1.

I upgraded to 3 two months ago. I was impressed with their bundled instruments that were quite lame in 2. There are some things that Sonar does better.

I have no problem with with sonars automation. But haven't used s1 for automation so no comments. Sonars quick grouping in itself is much handy than VCA faders. Sonar has console emulater for ages.

The updates are cool and can't complain for free. However I can't believe S1 doesn't have a proper midi drum editor. It's the main reason I can't use it for the songwriting stage.
