Studio X2 - exit step record

My Sonar X2 is opening in Step record mode. I've never seen this before. I can't find a way to turn it off and return to recording MIDI live with my Kurzweil.

    go in to preferences / record / choose normal record mode.
    in newer versions of sonar you can right click on the record button to choose these options.
    not sure that was the case in X2 though.

    I ended up turning everything off, restarting my computer, and the problem went away. I know there are Windows 10 compatibility issues with my M-Audio Fast Track Ultra. I'm guessing this was the culprit.
