Stupid question? Easy answer?

Ok...I am really drawing a blank here.  How does one open the help file / manual for an audio effect.  I can go into the folder where vst plugins are stored and find the html file in there - but isnt there a way to, for example - if I have the VC-64 Vintage Channel UI open - isnt there a way to call up the Manual for this plugin?  I must be missing something really obvious....please help.

Thanks.

For most, just click anywhere inside the interface to make it the active window and then press the F1 key on your PC keyboard.

For the VC64, you should see the word Manual on the interface to the right of the VC-64 logo lettering. Just click on that word... Manual.

the plugin does has a manual button , it doesn't work for me. normally f1 brings things up

the pdf reference guide has it , page 631

also if you bring up help in the console and search for vc-64

heres a few things you'll find handy maybe >

    Hey guys:
The F1 function works for me on older plugins like Sonitus, but not on any of the newer 64 bit plugins.  I can't figure it out for the life of me.  The "manual" button on the vintage channel plugin doesnt work either.  Any ideas why this might be?

your running win7 or vista? thats maybe part of it.. paths and other things have changed,  and well the link side of things needs updating perhaps inside the code.

but you can access the manual, just do it via the console etc instead..

yea, windows 7.  Also, if I open the sonar help file via the help command for example, it isnt the same as the actual help file for the individual plugin.  For example - if I do a search for the VC-64 Vintage Channel, all it says in the sonar help file is:

Taking full advantage of SONAR’s internal 64-bit double precision processing, VC-64 Vintage Channel offers the classic sound of sought-after analog channel strips and dynamics processors.
For more information, see the VC-64 Vintage Channel online Help.

Nothing more.  But in the actual folder where the plugin is stored, there is an actual manual / complete help file for the plugin...

Well...in case anyone else is experiencing this, i found that some of the effects - you can reach the help info that is specific to that plugin just by right clicking in the background of the plugin UI and select HELP from there.

Hmm... must be a Win 7 thing because it works in Vista. Not sure about 64-bit though.

Ha! Sure, why don't I just send over my whole studio?
