Stupid question - can I install SONAR on more than one computer?

Just got a kick ass Asus Q534 2-1 laptop and I'd like to see how SONAR looks and acts on it before i tank my older desktop ...as long as I only use 1 at a time, can I have it loaded on both machines legally?

SONAR Platinum, Win7 Home Premium 64bit, Sweetwater Creation Station CS250v21 (Ivy Bridge Core i5 3.4Ghz CPU, 12GB DDR3/1600Mhz RAM, 500GB/1TB Seagate Barracuda system/audio drives, SATA 6.0, USB 3.0), M-Audio Fast Track Pro USB, 2x KRK Rokit 5's, Yamaha MO8

Hi. Yes. As long as you only use one computer at a time, you can have SONAR installed on more than one computer.
All the best.

Challenge is the 3rd party plugins might have some restrictions. Melodyne allows 2 computers I think and so does addictive drums. Good luck

Yes Cakewalk can be installed on a number of machines but Melodyn and AD only allow 2.
You need to de-authorize one computer before you install to the 3rd.

One of the Cake employees chimed in on this topic and stated they only might question if someone is tallying up a lot of Sonar installs on the same account.
I myself have Plat on 3 computers. One is only for reference for this forum and therefore I don't have it loaded up with AD or Melodyn.
I then bought Home Studio to run on a 4th machine ( laptop) for live use.

Turns out this laptop is going to be a bust (and returned later today).  I spent all of last night (3+ hours) and an hour more this morning just trying to let the machine update itself to the latest Windows 10 (Anniversary?) build wherein it perpetually fails in the following manner:

From the initial BS dialog box saying everything looks great(!) to update it goes -> Download ->Verify -> Faile Verification -> repeat download -> Download (again) -> Verify (again) -> Fail verification (again) -> Shell out to another dialog box stating the download is corrupt, generating a worthless MS error code 0x80070057 (IIRC) which upon a Google search revealed that basically it's a problem and best of luck.  Yeah.

Now, I COULD go through the motions trying to fix this I suppose, and maybe it's possible to do so.  I am a database admin and a long time IT Pro -- but for $1475, I sort of expect a computer to work out of the box, and do Windows Updates without issue BEFORE I ever install anything.  Plus I wrestle with this crap all day, every day at work and I paid a premium price for a supposed "seamless experience" and a touch screen. Apparently not so much.  Call me weird, but screw that nonsense especially when my 2013 era desktop running Windows 7 is still rock solid (I'd hoped to replace it and be mobile in one fell swoop).  So I guess I'll just stay there until I am forced to move now.

Edit: For those interested, check out this lame fix that only MIGHT work: http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/how-fix-windows-10-anniversary-update-error-0x80070057-1574752

I was about to post something sort of similar.  Later this year I have to make a laptop based production studio, and I was going to inquire here about advice, direction etc from people who have done it

Call me silly, but when ever I have done an upgrade it has been to my desktop.
Laptop CPUs are not the same as Desktop CPU's. For example: A Desktop Intel i5 processors are Quad Cores, but the mobile Laptop versions are Dual-Cores. Desktops are easier to upgrade and to work on.

I know my point seems far away from the topic but I see you are still running an Intel I3 3.4 in your desktop ?
Dude, Join us.... Get an I7 and blow the doors of this I3 your using now. That's some money well spent.

Actually, it's an i5 Ivy Bridge which really runs fine for me:

["SONAR Platinum, Win7 Home Premium 64bit, Sweetwater Creation Station CS250v21 (Ivy Bridge Core i5 3.4Ghz CPU, 12GB DDR3/1600Mhz RAM, 500GB/1TB Seagate Barracuda system/audio drives, SATA 6.0, USB 3.0), M-Audio Fast Track Pro USB, 2x KRK Rokit 5's, Yamaha MO8"]

I may be more inclined at this point to do as you suggest, and once Windows 7 goes out of support, just unplug it from the Internet altogether -- but that's 3 years from now I reckon which is what, like 21 in "Daw" years?
