Stylus RMX format

Does anyone know if there's anything in the X series that can read native Stylus RMX files?  If not, is there any plugin besides Stylus that can work with these files?  (eSoundz.com is unloading old RMX style paks for $15.)

Sonar Platinum (64-bit); many CW PC modules; endless plugins (most of which SPLAT doesn't list); Edirol PCR-800; Win10 Pro 64-bit; Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 interface; lots of hardware I don't actually use anymore; 1972 Rickenbacker 4001 bass (Chris Squire days); other basses, guitars, mics, etc.

The "native" Stylus RMX files are .rex files.

I've converted .rex files into .wav and converted .wav into .rex files for Stylus.

I haven't tried to use .rex files in anything but Stylus so I can't answer you....but at least
now you know they are rex files and search if nobody can help you.....and I sure can't
imagine a program that could handle them any better than Stylus, if there is one.

The "native" Stylus RMX files are .rex files.

I read that somewhere, but I downloaded some freebie RMX format files from Nine Volt Audio and when I looked at them, they have a "data.xml" file (which has all the information on where to look for the samples and how to play them) in the base folder with a bunch of sub-folders for the individual "loops" or whatever.  In each of these sub-folders is simply a single file named "Audio" (no extension).  There are no .rex or rx2 files anywhere.  Perhaps this is an encryption scheme like Steinberg uses with HALion's .hsb files so you can't get at the individual samples, but if that's so then perhaps other companies use the same format and these "Style Paks" can't be used outside Stylus itself.

I didn't read it. Unfortunately I learned it after getting Stylus. So then I had to
spend for Recycle to convert files I wanted to use with it.
Not sure what files you're referring to or what exactly you're trying to do but I've
told you what I know about it....and all I want to know....if I learn anything else it'll
probably cost me more to do what it's doing now.

Besides....wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to make your own grooves and convert them?
( just to answer for yourself...I know my answer)

    Good luck.

Honestly, I've never used .rx2 files before--ever.  As I said, eSoundz.com is selling a bunch of stuff for $15 a pak, so I was wondering if I could make use of the stuff in Sonar without having to buy Stylus itself.  If not, no biggie; but if yes, then I'll buy a pack or two, just to experiment.

Hey Mag, I downloaded/installed a bunch of free e-sounds samples a while back. The rex/rx2 files load & play on X1 here no problem (it looks like Sonar runs them thru sample rate conversion when I preview in browser or drag samples from browser to track view) I also had checked the recognize rex file format when installing Sonar. Best, HeyDan
