Sub Bass frequency split question - Mix Template Hip Hop (Sonar Platinum - Hopkinton)

Hello

I checked out some of the new templates in the Hopkinton release of Sonar Platinum.

In the Mix Template Hip Hop they have send a portion of the Bass Bus to another bus and separated the lowest frequencies (below). It is sent Pre Fader. I am wondering if this is the same thing as having two audio
tracks of the same bass line and split the frequencies differently on each track?

I know that I should separate the frequencies for mono compatibility etc, however, what are the "best/easiest" way to do this? Can I for example use an EQ with M/S function or whats your take on this?

Thanks!

I think the way that they have it set up the sub-bass bus is only strengthening that band range. Take a look at the hidden busses in those Mix templates, for instance the drum reverbs. The Mix templates have been giving lots of ideas.

Ok, so they only strenghten the sub..
Intersting ideas from the templates for sure.
It's new for me to send drum reverb from the drum bus . I normally use a bus for the drum reverb and send kick, snare etc to that bus.
