Sub-forum for Sound Design request

I am not aware if or how often Brandon visits this forum, but since the addition of sub-forums for SONAR beginners, I think it would be cool and informative for Cakewalk to create a sub forum dedicated to sound design.  As many of us have experienced, sometimes tweaking presets just doesn't cut it.  It would be helpful if there was a specific forum dedicated to the subject wherein we could share ideas, techniques and instructions on the matter from Beginning to Advanced, from SFZ programs to evolving pads, etc.  The addition of videos would be very helpful too.

So, how about it?  Can this happen Cakewalk?

Kind regards,

Living Room Rocker

+1 this site is active enough to justify it. Composition sub-forum would be nice as well...

    My $.02:

I think this forum, and the Techniques forum are lightly used enough to accommodate sound design and composition threads. The problem is that if you spread subjects too thin a lot of the people you would like to have participate will not remember or take the time to check in regularly. This is already a problem with forums other than the main SONAR Producer and Studio forum.

How about someone set up a website to link to/bookmark/join that is specifically for sound design instead of using Cakewalk's.  You could always throw a topic on this forum with a link to the website... then it is open game

I'm with brundle on this one.  There seems to be no big traffic on this site (until Cake releases a new synth, anyway).  And I really haven't seen too many sound design questions over the years.  And yes, it gets to be a pain to check different forums and different sites.

If I had a sound design question/tip about synths, I'd post it here.  If it was about effects/tracking, I'd post it in techniques.  Of course, those are two forums I check regularly.

If you want a sound design forum just for CW instruments, as others have pointed out, there's probably not a big enough constiuency here for that to work.

On the other hand, if you want a non-denominational sound design forum, at least one already exists.  Check out:

PatchArena.com is kinda lonely - you should start "a little more conversation" there.

I believe PatchArena is still run by Chad who I also believe is affiliated with Cakewalk so it makes sense to use it.......haven't contributed there in years.
