Sudden Problem with This Forum (and Cake's website) and Firefox 5.0 [Solved]
I've been using this combo successfully for a long time and suddenly this morning I get a message HTTP Error 400. The request is badly formed. I've never had this happen before... I've cleared my cache and history but it didn't change anything... Right now I'm logged in from my Mac using Firefox 11 with whatever other issues there are with this forum software.... (Quote doesn't work of course)... Any ideas? Thanks... Keni

I got fed up with FF & IE so I'm on Chrome - and I like it a lot.

Thanks guys... I'm too used to firefox to change of my free will right now... I've never tried chrome but maybe I'll give it a look-see soon... What's got me is that 5.0 was working fine since it was released... After 5 I saw problems... I've been using 5 all along and suddenly today, this...? What changed??? Keni

I'm using Firefox 5.0.1 and no problems here. I wonder if something else caused it like an automatic update of some kind?

Keni, that's usually caused by a corrupt cookie. Go to Tools|Options|Privacy and click "remove individual cookies." Then delete cookies from forum.cakewalk.com. Make sure you remember your user name and password. You can try clearing your cache too.

I was on FF V5 for a long time and suddenly started getting problems, not just here but other websites. I think it was a compatibility issue with the latest Flash update.
No matter how much I want to like chrome I miss all the add ons I use too much. IE just sends me nuts so I decided to try updating FF and use IE tab again. Surprisingly most of the problems I had before are gone and so that's my current combo. FF V654 (or wherever it is this week) and IE tab for this and a couple of other sites.
Working nicely so far.

On FF 5 here and as FBB said, had problems with Flash 11.3.
Downloaded 11.2 and now everything works perfectly, including FF5

You sure? Have you tried putting in paragraphs or quoting? If it does work it's a recent fix 'cos from 6 -> 11 it hasn't. BTW. Chrome here now and lots of add-ons. Still not sure if I prefer it or not though.

Just the opposite. The version is FF 5. Its the only one that reads the entire editing dialog correctly. It shows all the buttons and they work under it. Chrome only works partially. In your case I would check what version is being used. Unfortunately FF will auto update if you leave that as a default.

Thanks for clearing me up on that John... I've got 5 working once again and have no problem staying with this version... I don't have problems with it. Turns out the problem was as StepD mentioned... Bad cookie... I guess th Cake is better than the cookies here! ;-) Keni

Not sure about Chrome only working partially. It seems fine here, unless I'm missing something. I'm still not sure that I prefer it over FF but I'm giving it a fair run while I'm deciding.

That's weird. Out of the 3, Chrome is the only one (for me) that does read the editing dialog without error.
