Suggestion: Minor enhancements to Process | Gain Dialog

Sometimes I need to adjust audio clip volume destructively. In my workflow the fastest way is to hit Ctrl-G to open Gain dialog.

Toast burns elsewhere in the program but Gain Dialog design is relic! How about some facelifting? Nothing too complicated at first:

1) If processing mono track, show gain options for one track only. What happens if you enter different values for L and R when processing mono track? Probably only left channel values are used but after decade (soon two!?) I'm not sure.

2) Preset gain list looks too complicated! Plus and minus values are shuffled together.

3) Interface uses standard Windows components. That's OK but Sonar is full of decent custom knobs and sliders which could be used in this dialog with ease... Phase button is obvious one.

Yes, there is at least one guy actually using this dialog weekly! :)

My friend and I were discussing something rather more intuitive for this, or as an extra besides the gain dialog.

How about a short cut when a clip is selected for 1 db higher and 1 db lower.

Then you could just hit that short cut every time you want another db boost or lowered!

That would be some major workflow for me.

Also, a shortcut to add clip envelope, and then same thing, shortcut for 1 db up and 1 db down at a time.

Talk about an enhancement that would make for me.

Direct keyboard shortcuts would rock. My assignments:

    Shift-Alt-1: +1 dB
    Shift-Alt-3: +3 dB

    Ctrl-Alt-1: -1 dB
    Ctrl-Alt-3: -3 dB

In keyboard layout shift is on the top of Ctrl. That's why it's for +. :)
