Summer Days
After listening to an excellent piece recently posted by GrandpaTunes here, I thought I would have a go at writing a piece featuring the Vibraphone. The result is not exactly MJQ standard! But I like it! Just a little piece of whimsy remembering how Summer used to be. 'Vocals' were produced using Vocaloid Miriam - yet again, I must send my humble apologies to Ms Miriam Stockley! Nice and soothing. It actually "sounds" like summer. Not my genre of music, but very nice just the same. Good job.

Hi thepogue - sincere thanks. I am the same about the vibes ever since I went to see the MJQ back in the late 60's and heard Milt Jackson play. I have still never heard better. Hi Rik - Sincere thanks. Summer? I do agree with you. It's been howling a gale all day with torrential rain. Yep, just another Summer day! Hi MetalTek - Sincere thanks - As I mentioned to Rik above, I reckon that piece of music is the nearest I have come to Summer this year! And I hear they are forecasting a dreadful winter for us. What a year - I think it's time to hibernate! Best Regards Malcolm

Very relaxing and laid back. Nice textures, vocals sound weird...like microsoft Sam in a 50's female jazz format.

Hi mgh - Sincere thanks. "With une authéntique chanteuse française"? I wish! But I don't think even my dreams could manage that. But I will try! Hi geeare1 - Sincere thanks. With the choice between me singing and the computer singing, anything is worth a try! Vocaloid Miriam is not perfect, but the alternative is too dreadful to contemplate! Hi Maxprizm - Sincere thanks and I totally agree about the vocals - weird! And even that level of 'quality' takes a huge amount of time and effort. But as I said above to geeare1, you would definitely not like to hear the alternative! Sorry for delay in responding to comments. Last night I was opening a huge pop festival on my little Isle! First pop festival I have ever been to. My ear drums are still reverberating! As far as I could tell, I was three times the age of the average attendee! But I gave them all a Druid blessing anyway - I am sure they were grateful! Best Regards Malcolm

Hi mgh - Yes, it was Bestival. As I mentioned, I have never been to a pop festival before and I was amazed by the vast size and extraordinary energy there. It would be trite to say the place was 'rocking' but I am sure I felt the whole planet move! My 'opening' was exactly that (excluding cutting a ribbon!) - an opening ceremony. I lead the Isle of Wight Druid Grove in a formal ceremony of blessing for the whole festival. And then I went home for a mug of tea and left the dancing to those of a more youthful inclination! But I dreamt I was dancing! Best Regards Malcolm

Nice and smooth. Very evocative and appropriate vibe for a lazy summer day. Piano sprinkles are cool (nice supportive role arrangement-wise). I enjoyed the listen Malcolm and very well done indeed!

Hi Vicente and Alegria - Sincere thanks and so pleased you like it. Sorry, but I could not resist adding a link to the opening day of the Bestival (for reasons, see my posts above) which is taking place this weekend on the little Isle where I live off the South coast of England. Careful you don't blink or you will miss me (OK, it probably is worth blinking, but it's still a great video!). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEQrnZXxXHs Best Regards Malcolm
