Been humming and singing this all day after hearing your excellent version. Well done by all! The mix is super clear, love it. Great lead vocal which I believe is set back a little lower than the original. Maybe bring Daryl up a bit?

Fifty years later it's brought to my attention that Sunny Afternoon is a Kinks song and not The Lovin' Spoonful, a notion that somehow got into my head back then and has remained ever since.

I liked your version of the song maybe even better than the original.

How can you say that ??

Let's see,

Go back 50 odd years and walk to work along Waterloo Bridge in the early London sun (yep we had sun back then)   ...And, Oh no no no my friend,  The Kinks have it in spades ... good rendition, but ... you had to be there to really feel the words and the music of that time and  ....

Ohh the wife's just told me to throttle back .......... anyway, as we ALL say a good song is just that and always will be ... we all say that ... don't we ??

The only thing that would make the cover any better would be for you to allow downloads so I can add it to my song collection.  Very well done and sounded like a lot of fun to make.  Thanks for taking time to share it with us.

Hi, Daryl, Ed and James,

Dynamite job on this very classy sounding, classic Kinks cover!

Great playing by all three of you, as always, and Daryl's vocals and Ed's BGVs were fantastic.  The mix was a perfect blend of both a vintage vibe and modern production, with a clean, fresh sounding pop-rock style.

Excellent work, boys, always great to hear a new collab from you!

Have a rockin' weekend!

Bob
