Superior Drummer 2 set path....

I'm using Superior Drummer 2.2.3 with Sonar X1 producer. I've watched some tutorials on YouTube and all of them have many more samples than I do ( I'm new to this so when I say samples I mean 5 different snares to choose from instead of 3 and more importantly grooves!) when I go into grooves tab in SD2 I see EZplayer/ EZplayer pro midi and there's some grooves but not a ton. I've seen in tutorials Groove Monkey and others should be here. If I go to computer/(C)/ cakewalk content/ midi library, there it is... Groove Monkey, Smart loops...ETC. Ive tried copying them into other files like Sonar Producer/ track templates and gone to settings in SD2 to (set path...) when I get to folder where they are and select it says not an audio library. I'm sure it's gotta be a folder path issue. when I inserted ezplayer softsynth I was able to set a path to them just not in supperior drummer. I don't want to have to preview grooves in ezplayer then use SD. please help!

Unless you bought those other drum kit libraries (EZX or SDX), you'll only have the basic kits that came with the VST. I know they do send a lot of DVD's with additional kits, but those have to be purchased/authorized to be able to use them so I didn't install them (yet).
I have EZ drummer & Superior (Groove Monkee too) as well and keep all my libraries on a different drive (dedicated sample drive) which both programs "see" all the available kits.
It seems that your SD2 libraries are not in C:\Cakewalk Content folder and is in a different location. You can possibly check to see if it's in the C:\Program Files\Toontrack folder (I'm of course assuming you don't have a seperate HD for samples). I'm not at my DAW right now, so I'm just going my short term memory.

Possibly some others will chime in with better solutions here....

If you go onto the GrooveMonkee site they have pdf files that explain everything you need to know about where the grooves should go for different drum packages. I am not in front of my DAW right now so I forget exactly. The mappings for Superior Drummer and SD are different so I am not totally sure they are transferrable.

The GrooveMonkee packages are pretty cost effective and are very good by the way so you could save a lot of hassle and just buy one of them. They give you grooves that work across a lot of different platforms.

I noticed that you asked this same question in a previous thread and Alegria asked if this was a "registered copy of SD2" which you avoided answering??? hmmmmmm......

I mean 5 different snares to choose from instead of 3 and more importantly grooves!) !
IRC there is a download version of Superior (and the SDX) that only contains some of the samples. Once you have regestered your serial number you can download and install it, but it just gives you a basic set to get going while you are waiting for the DVDs to arrive. You need to install the rest of the samples from the DVDs. When you buy a "download version" this is what happens.

For the SDX expansions the MIDI grooves are not included on the DVDs. You have to log on to you Toontrack acount where you can get the grooves for your regestered products. I am not 100% sure but I think that was also the case with Superior.

Edit - Superior is available as a partial download - http://www.timespace.com/product/SDRUM-120/3/9999929/toontrack_superior_drummer_20_%28serial_download%29.html

There are 7 snares in the full package, so if you are only seeing three it looks like you do not have the full product installed. Did you buy it as a download? If so the retailer should have sent you a VSSD box of install DVDs.

Here is the blurb from Time and Space.

Please note: None of the products in the Superior Line can be downloaded in full. Upon registration, you will get access to a partial download containing a subset of the library purchased, typically the default kit with limited ambience microphones or tools.

A full physical set of discs is required to complete the installation. When you purchase your Superior Line download from Time+Space, we will ship you the discs as soon as the purchase is completed.

The box may also include a lot of SDXs but they will only work of course if you have purchased and regestered a licence for the SDX in question.

The 'set the library path' has nothing to do with midi or grooves. The path is set to the sounds which is a folder containing about 25GB of files as I recall. You would remember installing them from the discs because of the size. These can be placed on any drive but due to the size, most people would put it on their sample drive.
