Superior Drummer 2.0: Drop Outs, Glitching

Hey all,
Just picked up Sonar X1 a few weeks ago, and was using SD2.0 previously on FL Studio 9. Two issues that I can't seem to figure out!

When adding a VST (LP-64 multiband compressor, EQ, Transient or any other VSTs of mine) to an individual out of a SD2.0 track, a bus track that has SD2.0 outs or even the master, the SD2.0 tracks will just not trigger seemingly randomly. Toggling the VST on and off toggles off the drop outs for reproducing this. I know SD2.0 has built in effects, but I'd really like to get some of the Sonar vsts on these drums, as well as master track!

After using Sonar, for maybe 30-60 mins, occasionally the playback will start to glitch/warble, but only for SD 2.0 tracks. Requires a Sonar restart.

This may be a more appropriate question for the TT forums, which I'll try if there aren't any solutions, but figured I'd post here since I did not encounter any of these issues in FL Studio with SD2, and hoping it's just a checkbox I forgot in Sonar or something o.o

Thanks!

You could try turning off the visual animations, its somewhere in the settings. Don't know if it will help though. I remember reading about it a few years back when Superior 2 was released.

    JSkeen,
I switched to 'classic view' to just show pads, as well as usually have this window closed, so it's not rendering anything on the screen during playback. Here are my specs as well:

    Windows 7, 64-bit Professional, SP1
    8gb ram, quad cpu
M-Audio Audiophile 2496 interface (latest patch)
    Sonar X1 Producer
    Superior Drummer v2.2.3 64bit

    Thanks!

Just gave this suggestion in another post.

Are you using 64 bit Sonar? (footer does not say).

Have you adjusted your speedstep/core parking settings yet? If not that's something to try as you have a quadcore PC (google for details).

Also I'm sure you are on the latest drivers? For everything (including graphics card/sound card).

For me disabling core parking was a godsend.

    Thanks

    Alex

Sonar 64 bit (think I answered ya on TT forum heh)

Will google around to learn about Speedstep/core parking to see if that helps out.

Latest drivers on pretty much all, although I may need to update Sonar since I just got it recently.. will also do that.

Ah, some research time. Will report back -- Thanks, bud!

Upgraded to Sonar X1c and disabled core parking. No go.

Looking into doing Speedstep on the BIOS..

As per TT user's suggestion, I've also enabled Trigger/Freewheel and been checking out the plugin delay compensation. When overriding, the drums playback just lags behind slightly, rendering it unusable, even without any VSTs. And with it on, it only seems like it's certain Cakewalk VSTs that cause it (XX64 line). Any work arounds for this other than bouncing all of my drum tracks to audio and then applying VSTs? :\

Did you consult M-Audio's DAW optimization guide?  It's actually pretty thorough.

I'd start with just disabling speedstep/C1E, as has been suggested:

Then, if you're still having issues, go through the steps on the main optimization page:

Raise your ASIO buffers. most likely, the cause of things like this is an ASIO buffer that is too low..
