Supersymmetric Strings

I really don't know what to say about this one. I composed the second half first and then added the beginning.

I guess I do wonder if either theme is too repetitive, but then I always wonder that about my works.

Most all of the instruments are doubled with GPO and EWQL to try to get as much variation in the sounds as possible.

I should add that this is not complete as is. There will be something added onto the end, I just don't know what yet.

Here it is

Hope you enjoy

Ron

I can certainly hear this as a movie theme. Wow. It's not the type of music I'd listen to normally, but you did a great job on it. I thought maybe the theme in the first part was a little repetitive, but then I listened specifically for that since you asked. Maybe otherwise I wouldn't have noticed.

Great work with the mix and strings... I kept waiting or expecting to hear some percussion in the beginning, kettle drums or an explosion of some sort (can't tell you at what time cause the player you use doesn't give min./sec.) but then you came through... That sounds like alot of work you put in... Like Janet said, it's not the type of tune I'd drive around listenin' too but WOW!!! Nice job...

I agree with Janet, Ron. I'm definitely hearing film score/production material here. I'm getting a suspense/anticipation vibe from this. Waiting for the bad thing to happen.... this really does conjure up visuals in a big way. Excellent composition and playing my friend. If i didn't know it was you, I'd swear I was litening to the classical/ orchestra radio station in my area. Yeah! That good I'm afraid!

    Ron,

The first half is not repetitive to my ears - the second half arrives just in time. The church bells were a nice touch. The overall mix sounds full and balanced.

IMO, my favorite section was 5:23 through 5:45 - I was on the edge of my seat, but then it fizzled - I didn't care for the transition from 5:45 onwards till the end. I know you mentioned you're working on adding to the end.

This is just the opinion of a listener with untrained ears for this type of music: end it at 5:45 - leave me at the edge of my seat wanting more.

    Great work,
    Doug

Isn't funny how we can set someone up to look out for thingsthat normally they wouldn't? If I would not have said it you might just be right.

    Rampdog

Thebest thing about someone commenting on our music is that we can correct our mistakes. I had the percussion in thuis at the beginning but at one point cut it back so as to hear other parts and never went back to bring thed percussion back. So when you said you wanted to hear some in the beginning, I thought it was already there but went back and brought the velocities back up for the version thsat is up now.
    Thanks!

    Larry

It is always great to hear that I have accomplished what I strived for. I tried to convey that to you in your newest in a straight forward and simple manner.

    Doug

I understand where you are coming from and see your point. Hopefully once I figure out the next 4-5 minutes of this one, the section at the end of this will make sense.

    Thanks guys

I still feel it is a magnificent piece... You put alot of work into it and it shows... I wish I could 'hear' things the way you do....

Volume. Its way too quiet. Bring the levels up and lets hear the full dynamics.

The composition is of course inspiring. That pretty much goes without saying these days.

    Cheers

Ron, I am so impressed with not only the authentic sounds you're getting but your mastery of where to use them. This is another audio delight. Ear feast. (loved the chimes/glockenspiel?) Amazing work. BUT-....LOL....the name is pathetic.

This is astonishing! +1 as per Janet and others.

Extremely competent classic. If only I were there listening first hand to the bells and strings and transients.

Stuff like this is way out of my league to judge ... at all.

It is the best of the best. Percussion is subtle

I'm extremely honored to listen to it.

Definitely get a sense of foreboding in this piece. Excellent orchestration. My one suggestion is that on two sets of monitors the 300-600hz range overwhelmed my ears a couple of times.

    Thanks again for the input!

    Shad

I have spent the last hour and a half tweaking this so as to be able to increase the V's without getting any distortion. It is being exported as I type and hopefully this one will do it.

You said the same thing on one of my last ones. It is difficult to kick 'em up with out getting some distortion here and ther. I do always try to stay right on the edge, but that can take hours and hours which I usually just don't have.

    Rick

The name is just a little play on words. I almost called this one SUSY, but figured few would understand that the piece is about String Theory and how Bosons and Fermions coexist.

I guess that is being too pathetic! lol

    Phillip

You keep giving away your money like that and you will soon be broke!

    The honor is all mine.

I wnet over this with a fine comb and think I have removed all of the spikes including 300- 600. Hopefully I have it fixed.

    Thanks guys

    Hi Ron,

    This is an excellent piece!!

I truly admire how you have used GPO and EWQL to get an awesome orchestration mix!

    Great job.

    Yo Ron,

I really like this one. You have a knack for this dissonant contrapuntal stuff. The themes have a vaporous quality and they interweave and drift in-and-out.

If anything, it reminds me of Charles Ives.

Real senior level stuff, if you ask me.

    Cheers,

    Bert
