Support for Eucon in Sonar X1 ?

Any hope that Sonar X1 updates Euphonix/Eucon controller support?

I bought an MC-Mix back in the Sonar 7PE days when Euphonix support was announced. At first, all was good. Since then, the Sonar plugin has never been updated, and with each succesive Sonar release, some functionality (inserts, eq, plugins) was lost. As it stands now, Sonar 8.5 only works with very old Euphonix drivers that are incompatible with most other Euphonix-aware software.

I just got Pro-Tools 9 and they fully support the MC-Mix and the latest drivers - even on Win7 x64. Sonar's Euphonix plugin won't install on x64 at all - the installation refuses to run.

So is there any hope for updated Eucon support?

Over in the VS700 forum,s the guys there were told that the control surface plugin for them wont be available for a few months because of all the changes that X1 has brought to key assignments.

Unless you use a standard Mackie Control then I'm thinking you might be out in the cold with X1 untill they (Eucon) write a new CS plugin.

Gosh this is depressing!! I was about to order an MC Transport and MC Mix. I have protools and Avid Media Composer on my system and with Eucon support in Sonar I thought I was going to be sitting pretty. What could I expect with X1 and these two units? I am in for a world of pain?

Hmm. VS700 is no use to me as I said before I have protools 9 and Avid Media Composer 5.5 on my system both of which have advanced Eucon and Artist series support. Sonar would appear to be the weak link here. I would be very grateful if anyone with an MC Mix could fill me in on the level of support and the pitfalls I can expect. I don't want to spend $1200 on a device that's going to be the source of continual angst.

I had *some* success using MC Mix with the 2.57 Eucon Windows driver and Sonar 8.53 running under Win 7 x86 (all 32-bit) with the existing Sonar/Eucon plugin.

Basically, the Euphonix controllers are not a very good choice for Sonar. OTOH, they work really well with PT9.
