Surround 7.1 encoding.

It is great that I can create 7.1 mixes. Is there any way that I can encode a 7.1 mix to a file (mp4?) that can be played on an apple tv or other media server?
If not directly from sonar, is there something out there software-wise that I can use to encode such a file?
