Surround panner places audio on wrong channels

Hi,

I'm probably doing something wrong, but, When I use the surround panner the audio goes to the wrong speaker. I'm using AC97 for surround. What could be wrong?

thanks..

Go to Options->Project->Surround and make sure the settings are correct there for your configuration.

I had this same problem when setting up my surround speakers. Ensure all speakers are plugged into the correct ouput. Go to Options>Project. Click on the Audio tab and you'll see your outputs. Click on the arrow and it will list your soundcard outputs. The start playing w/ different selections until you get it corrected. My front and rear were revesed. Hope this helps

Thanks for the input. The problem now is that all of the channels do not show up. I do not see anything other than the L and R channels to choos from in any of the drivers (ASIO, WDM or MME32). What suggestions for this? I'm using a realtek HD880 board for surround mixing (AC97). In windows control panel the realtek audio will send audio to each of the 6 channels so I know it is fine within windows.

    any more input is appreciated.

Have you tried running the wave profiler again?

I just got off the line with customer support and was told that this sound card does not have 6 outs. I know I'm plugging in 6 speakers (stereo L+R on one plug, stereo rear L+R on another plug, center, and sub). He told me that I need a sound card with 6 discrete out's. I thought that's what I have.

If what he says is true then how does anyone with a SB Audigy perform surround panning?

PS the driver is up to date.

    ***Update***

I did a surround mix (for video) and the surround came out where I automated it to. The issue still remains though. How do you monitor this through AC880? Or sound blaster for that matter?
