Sus pedal on/off

An arpeggiating piano changes chords each measure and I don't want the sustain to flow over the measure boundary.

Here's what I've been doing but I'd like to know if there's a better/easier way.

* Just before the part begins, I insert controller 64 and give it a value of 120
* At the end of the first measure and before the second measure, I insert controller 64 and reset the value to 0

I've been doing this in the Even List by duping a note, changing its point in time, then changing the Type from Note to Controller, etc.

It's a little tedious, is there a better way?

Thanks - rev

#1. I think it should be possible do make a CAL script that does this in a flash.

Just select a track and process it.

I don't know where the old CAL-script forum went, or if I got blind recently. But there were a number of members very keen to do things that seem useful.

#2. Or make a separate midi file with these events on/off as you like them and import and direct this midi file to the same synth/piano.

It will adjust itself to the tempo on the project in question.

#3. Or just copy from one measure and paste repeatedly on many measures. If I remember correctly you can do this very easy.

Inserting pedal events is easier in the PRV than in the Event View because you can visually see exactly where they need to go. I do use the Event View when I want to thin out large numbers of events, or just to identify where pedal events exist in the track and jump quickly to them in the PRV for editing.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    Ifm:

Pasting (with Merge on) would probably be the best of your suggestions for me.

    Bitflipper:

    I'll check it out. Thanks.
