Sustain pedal in PRV

OK, so when upgrading to Platinum, I saw that the sustain pedal interface in PRV is different. It makes more sense to see the big blocks instead of the tiny triangles. However, the actual functionality is still really cumbersome. I don't understand how to edit pedal up and down events. It sort of still works the same as it used to, but now I can't even see the markers themselves. I try overwriting pedal markings by just recording new ones, (but I'd way rather simply edit them in PRV) but sometimes Sonar doesn't seem to always record them right or something. Driving me nuts. How is this supposed to work, anyway?

Audio Interface: M-Audio Delta
Computer: Dell i5 3.1 GHz, 12Gb RAM, Windows 10 64-bit
Soft Synths: EastWest PLAY Symphonic Orchestra

    Are you sure you don't mean staff view?

    To edit pedal events (which are essentially CC64 events) in staff view , while in staff view , click "Pedal".  A white line will appear.  Click in this white line where you want the Pedal down event (CC64=108) to occur - a corresponding Pedal up event (CC64=0) will be generated afterwards further along the timeline.  You can also move the corresponding Pedal up event to a different time if needed.

    You can also edit sustain events on the PRV.  Simply open PRV and add controller 64 events where needed.  CC64 event with a value greater than 63 will be deemed as a Pedal down event.  A value 63 or Less will be deemed as a Pedal up event.

    Recording the sustain events using a MIDI controller is also an option.

    No, I mean PRV.
     
    I see, the problem is that actually pressing the sustain pedal creates a CC127 event, and releasing it creates a CC0 event, both of which are difficult to see in the pedal pane, since they look like the borders to the blue boxes, not events in and of themselves. Knowing that 64 is the boundary, and that they are actual events but just really hard to see, makes it easier.
     
    Is there a way to change what CC numbers get assigned to the pedal, so I could do something like 100 at 30 instead of 127 and 0? Also, I don't see that I can change the colors of the sustain pedal events from that pale blue, maybe I'm missing something?

    What exactly are you using to enter the sustain events?  Is this a pedal connected to a MIDI controller or is this a separate stand alone sustain pedal.  Either way, can you adjust the MIDI controller itself so that a pedal down generates a cc64 = 108 and a pedal up generates a cc64 = 20.  Any numbers will do, just remember that 64 is the switch over value.

    As regards the colour, sustain is CC64, so go to preferences | Customisation | Colours.  Change the entry "Continuous Event 2" to the colour you wish cc64 events to show up as.
