Swa complete Sonar X2

Hi to all,
I would just like to give some feed back to you all.
Firstly I purchased the download so that I could give an insight into our daw to a small group from my local community centre.
My time and studio was given freely to these younglings.
We did the 9 hours in 6 sessions with hands on after watching the video.
The whole class was quite pleased and learned well.
Two out of the six are ready to purchase and the other four are saving for X2.
I would highly recommend this tutorial to all new comers.

Great Job Karl.
Regards
Rob

I purchased the video but can not get it to open. I keep getting a corrupted message from windows and winrar regardless which program I try to unzip it with. I have tried from 3 different computers in 3 different locations and get the same message each time. I have emailed customer service but figured they had their hands full with the storm so I am not going to bug them until it clears up.

    Hi DRC,
                Welcome
I had no problems at all hope this helps
I also used winrar and unpacked it to the same folder  opened it self in WMP as an Mpeg 4 video file and away I went.
Not sure but it might not have downloaded correctly or picked up a bug on the way.
Right click on it and scan with your Anti virus see if there is a problem there.

Fastbikerboy is the champ that I would head to as it is his great work.
Ps I wish all the US brothers and sisters saftey in this mother of all storms
    Regards
    Rob

Try downloading it again. It could be something like a bad bit .

Thanks for the kind words Rob, much appreciated and I'm glad you found it useful. Six sessions is pretty intense and a long time to listen to me rattling on, just ask my wife...

@Danny... I'm not sure what the problem is and unfortunately can't help you much. Although I'm the author the video isn't actually 'mine' it's owned by SWA and distributed by them through their various partners including Cakewalk.

The best point of contact will be whichever store you bought it from but if you don't hear anything in a reasonable time frame PM me and I'll see if I can contact someone for you.

I also hope all in the US are safe.

+1  even if you think you know a topic well, chances are you will still find useful things you did not know, or see a different way of looking at things.

Hey John When you go through it make sure you have a pen and a pad of paper. I took notes all the way through it and I was amazed at what I did not know. well worth the money.

No kidding Marcus, there are things I have forgotten. It never hurts to have a refresher course. And I know I will learn something new.

9 hours of video is bound to have some worthwhile content. Also I really have no problem with giving out a tiny sum to a friend.

    John / Glyn ,
Yes I picked up on heaps myself , took notes on what I needed to brush up on as well.
I did not mean it was just for newcomers but is was a great way to get started.
All of the Faq are answered.

Karl , yes it was intense 6 x 6hr sessions with a few breaks through the days

    Regards to all

Thank you jmoore049. Glad you enjoyed it.

As well as the chapter index on the SWA site there is an even more detailed breakdown in my signature link for hunting down specific topics.

I downloaded both the SWA Complete X2 and the Mix Clinic. Took be two tries to get the Complete X2 but finally came through OK on the home computer. My only complaint so far is that it is one long (9 hr) video with no chapter breaks between subjects. Makes it kind of hard to navigate to specific items, I haven't seen the chapter guide yet but will have to get my hands on it. Luckily the Mix Clinic was segmented by chapters per subject but I was wondering if the tracks they are using are already in the Sonar content or if they are available elsewhere. Would be good to work along with them as they explain it. Both Videos seem to be of good quality.

    IMHO A wonderful X2 resource.
I did cut the video into sections at each chapter making it easy to get to individual parts.

    Thanks everyone.

There are chapter break points but Windows Media Player can't (or doesn't) read them. Quick Time and VLC both have free versions and they can.

Thanks everyone for the support and kind words.

FBB, I have gone back to it several times and I really enjoy it. Thanks. I noticed there were a couple of chapters where I couldn't hear the audio from Sonar, but I was still able to glean the lesson. Overall, it was a first rate piece of work and well worth the $.

Thank you very much gswitz, glad you found it useful.

I'm not sure what happened with some of the Sonar silence. That may have happened in the post editing stage.

    Thanks again.
