Switch between envelopes quickly

I am to the point with my project that I'm starting to add automation envelopes. Apparently in X3 only one envelope is editable at a time, and I have to go to the Edit Filter and select the envelope from the menu. This means hovering in through three sub-menus just to change to a different automation envelope. This appears insane. So, what is the easy, convenient way to switch editable envelopes? And as a side question, Why did the make this harder than it used to be?

And if I'm told that's just the way it is, then does anyone know how to access the Edit Filter menus using keyboard commands only? I'll just use AutoHotKey in that case.

Just click the Automation Lanes button for the track to see and edit all the envelopes without having to switch. Each envelope gets its own lane beneath the parent track.

This page includes (I think) all the options for switching to and between envelopes.

Haven't followed Stevec's link which probably mentions these.....but two real handy shortcuts should you not want to use lanes are Shift and left click on an envelope (or clip etc) to switch to it and shift and right click to toggle between the last and current selections.

Hold the shift key down with the cursor over a ghosted envelope to see a description pop up.
