Sync and Caching, Bandlab says to enable?

I've been dealing with this odd audio dropout issue for some time.  I have been emailing back/forth with Bandlab, and the last recommendation is to set playback and recording buffers in the sync/cache settings.

Every documentation and recommendation I have read on that setting says to leave disabled....or else!?

Anyone with any insight on this?
dave

The buffers are an independent setting of enabling read or write caching.

When the audio dropout toast notification comes up, click on its Help button and go through each step until you find the one that fixes the problem.
