Sync setting for Roland Quad Capture?

OK...this seems like an easy question that I can't seem to find an answer to...
 
Which sync setting should I set to use with my Quad Capture: Trigger & Freewheel or Full Chase Lock?  My MIDI data is constantly early (I've read other posts on that subject as well...), and if I bump the Timing Offset to around 88ms, it seems to line up the events correctly (why anyone should have to do this is a whole other discussion...).
 
Or...should I bail on that approach and use T & F setting in sync?  The MIDI events SEEM pretty good when I select that, but I always play ahead of the beat and can't really tell which of the 2 methods is "more accurate".
 
BTW...what's the deal with this?  I thought the Quad Capture was MADE FOR SONAR...why all the crazy tweaks just to get it to work correctly at the most BASIC level???
