Sync tempo of loops

New to HSXL7...came from Tracktion.  I have a large library of wave loops.  How do you get the tempos to sync with each other in HSXL7.  Do all the loops have to be "acidized" in order for HS to read and adjust?  Same thing on key of loop...If the steel guitar loop is in "C" can I alter that to "D".

Sorry if this is a newbie question but I am stump.

    Howdy neighbor!

does tracktion do all that?  I don't use wave loops, so I'm not experienced at what you want to do.  I think loops would need to be "acidized" before they would sync.  but I would defer to someone who has more experience with loops if they say otherwise.

as far as altering the key, I am not sure you can do that effectively (I"m sure you can, but not and have it sound great).  does tracktion do that?

Just make them into Groove Clips. Right click the clip - click on Groove Clip Looping and then drag it out as long as you want.

Thanks Beagle and Dave....Tracktion did not but I used a different setup by arranging a base for my song in Band in a Box.  Imported it into Tracktion as a midi file..Kinda weird but it worked for me.  I write mostly country and bluegrass (Hey! don't laugh..someone has to do it).  Now that Mackie has lost interest in the software I switched to HSXL7 .  It seems great but as all of you know the learning curve with any new program is frustrating.

Dave , I'll try your tip and see how it works.  Thanks again.

nothing weird about using BIAB to import MIDI into Tracktion - I do that with Sonar all the time myself!  and you can easily change the key in BIAB BEFORE exporting from BIAB and importing into Sonar.

however, you didn't mention above that you are working with MIDI loops - you said "wave loops" which means audio clips.

MIDI loops, however are competely different.  what exactly are you doing and trying to do?

With HSXL7 I am trying to work predominately with loops. My primary instrument I play is guitar and some keyboard.  I am trying to arrange backing tracks to my songs and then play live lead, rhythm to it.  The only midi I worked with was BIAB.  Although limited it is probably the easiest program to get started into midi I have run across.  I do not have any midi loops , although I would like to have some drum midis.  I assume when you import your midi song into Sonar it is the same as T2, you then attach a virtual instrument to the track?

I see you are in Cowtown.  I spend a lot of time over in the Fairmount district, some family there.  Great city.

yes, if you import MIDI tracks into SHS then you insert a softsynth (virtual instrument) in order to have the MIDI trigger the sounds from the softysnth for audio.

yep - been in cowtown for 11 years (this time!)
