Synth Guitar Sound

Is there an easy way (vst/effect) that I can use to generate a lot of synth mixture in my guitar sounds?  I have guitar rig 4, but I haven't really found anything in there to achieve what I'm after.  I really don't feel like spending almost a grand on hardware yet.  The sound I am after is the synth sound that dominates much of the guitars in this song.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAt9QTmVc7Q

As always, any help is appreciated.  Thanks
