Synth replace=.......AWESOME!!!
Been wanting this feature in Sonar since Project5. Worth the price of admission for this one alone. Thanks Cakewalk.

I use Single Instrument tracks. If an "unfrozen" Rapture is on one of these tracks and I want DimPro instead, just hover over the track icon and right mouse click, select Replace Synth, select DimPro and DimPro now replaces Rapture, with the routing untouched.

wetdentist amazing that a feature that came "free" with Project 5 is now something that costs extra in X1. just sayin' Well, I'll agree that this feature was a long time coming, especially since we had it in P5, you're not paying $50 for just that feature...so it's a straw man argument. Anything more that comes in future versions are going to be paid-upgrades, why verbally punish them for delivering the things we asked for? Besides, for that amount of cash it's a pretty nice hunk of features that are added. Sheesh that saturator alone could cost more than that.

So what does this indicate? That all new little features are going into Expanded, and those of us that don't want to (or can't) "upgrade" yet are S.O.L?

I don't know if "all" the features of expanded are going to a free upgrade, but it was suggested many were. I suspect most are. Not the new features but things that can be considered bug fixes. If enough people ****, stuff like scrolling PC ought to come free, as well as the replace synth. @

And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

Wavez So what does this indicate? That all new little features are going into Expanded, and those of us that don't want to (or can't) "upgrade" yet are S.O.L? that's why they want you to upgrade. they write code, they have business expenses, they want to make money (as they should) and so they charge for upgrades. I think what's confusing some people is that this is not a traditional number upgrade like in the past and it's cheaper than the past (for just expanded, not for adding the gate/expander add on) and that makes people think that this is just an "add on" but it isn't really. that's why there are new features, so if you want the new features you have to pay cake for their efforts.

so if you want the new features you have to pay cake for their efforts. Naming aside, that seems fairly logical to me. X1c did have a few goodies included too, which was a little suprising to me, so it seems fair that Expanded is not a freebie since it has a decent number of new features & enhancements. At the same time, yeah, fixes should be included in an X1d (or whatever it's called) for those that aren't looking for the features that Expanded offers. That also seems fair.
