Synth/FX Plugin Menu Change - Is It Just Me?

Synth/FX Plugin Menu Change - Is It Just Me?

Hello,
 
I seem to recall in the synth/fx browser windows you could hit a letter and it would take you to the first plugin that starts with that letter.
 
I am aware of the search option above the list, but I am just talking where it would just take you to that location in the list.
 
Now when you select a plugin in that list and then say hit the letter "C" it will collapse the control bar instead of going to the first vst that starts with "C".  

I could have sworn this was the behaviour maybe even a month ago.
 
Did this behavior change?

    Very well could be.  Or I am remembering wrong.  I could have sworn you could open up the softsynth list, highlight any softsynth and then hit a letter on the keyboard and it would take you to the first softsynth in the list that starts with that letter.
     
    Am I remembering wrong?
     
    I feel like the keyboard no longer keeps focus while in there.
