SynthMaster updated to 2.7

KV331 Audio has updated their software synthesizer plug-in SynthMaster to version 2.7.
This update brings the following new features toSynthMaster:
  • Oscillator algorithms: 16 oscillator algorithms are added in the following categories: Spectral (HP, HS, LS, BP, BS), Bend (Bend+, Bend-, Bend +/-), Sync (No Window, Cos Window, Half Window, Tri Window, Saw Window), Other (Pulse1, Pulse2, Bit Crush). The oscillator waveform displays for basic/wavetable oscillators are also updated so now they display the modified waveform or its spectrum in real time.
  • Less CPU usage for analog filters: The analog filter algorithms have been rewritten so now they have 3 different CPU modes: "Basic", "Normal" and "High". The "Basic" algorithm sounds similar to the other algorithms in most cases and it lowers CPU usage by at least 50%, compared to v2.6M.
  • More powerful oscillator voice stacking: The unison (voice stacking) features of basic/wavetable oscillators have been vastly improved. Now there are 3 new spread parameters for the oscillator algorithm parameters (tone spread, phase spread and wave index spread), and also voices mix and detune curve parameters to better control detune and volume of each unison voice.
  • New factory presets: 300 new presets are added to SynthMaster's factory library increasing the total factory presets count to 1100. The new presets; designed by Nori Ubukata, Rob Lee, Ufuk Kevser, Gercek Dorman, VorpalSound and BluffMonkey; cover a wide range of genres such as EDM, Electro, Ambient, Downtempo and Drum&Bass.
  • Modulators as Oscillators: The modulators can now be added to the oscillators, allowing them to be used as basic oscillators/sub-oscillators.
  • Assigning Multiple Parameters to Single Modulation Source: It's now possible to assign multiple parameters to a single modulation source with a single click, which allows the creation of complex morphs.
  • Export User Presets to SynthMaster Player iOS app: It's now possible for SynthMaster users to save their own presets as iOS user preset bank, allowing those presets to be imported to SynthMaster Player iOS app via iTunes.
Existing SynthMaster users can upgrade to the latest version for free at the below links:

+1 and glad to see KV331 working hard at improving this 'underrated' synth.

Still don't get why people at KVR are getting rid of it......I suppose one person's junk is another person's treasure and this certainly is a gem.

The only drawback of synthmaster is it's less than stelar interface. The sound quality however is awesome and one of the most versatile synth in the market. It is getting better in a big way with this update. I think it sounds better than before too. Yeah 300 new free presets is almost unheard of in other synths.

My always focus is on useable presets in the string emulations. Nothing there at all worth anything.

Organs have some good presets. Several degrees below a no brainer, if for the organs.

A couple decent arp presets. Key presets, few good ones.

Like anything, 100 presets you will never use to find only one that is useful.

Powerful synth with many fluid expressions. Worth picking it up on a sale. License key registration. No online activation or ilock crap.

And how many synths give you 300 new presets in a free update ...

Cakewalk did it a couple of times, both DPro and Rapture had 2 free expansion packs each containing more than 300 presets.

True, they even gave me a number of those Mutant preset banks for z3ta+2 :)
Still love that synth very much.

Synthmaster is a great synth. I don't understand the hate. I've never had any problems with it, but I can understand people complaining about bugs. I don't understand the complaints about the sound though. It sounds great to me. The GUI can be a bit confusing at first, but every synth I have that can do a bunch of different stuff is confusing. Harmor, Synthmaster, MPowersynth, they're all confusing and I don't think it's possible to have a powerful synth that is also easy to use.

I didn't see any 'hate threads' over at KVR (nor here), but rather noticed a lot of 2nd had sales. Most of the people that have it in here actually praise it often (including me). Possibly the older GUI was turning off all the synth master's over at KVR?

    Mesh,

Hope it wasn't me implying a "hate" thread for SynthMaster going forward.

When my rig died awhile back, took it as an opportunity to only reinstall quality synths, and SynthMaster was one of the first. Not the first go to, but one of the must haves.

Some great organ emulations, and though the overdrive is a bit artificial, several presets that can give Kontakt a run.

Presets are so subjective, and the new upgrade has showcases from various contributors.

My point is that with the influx of 300 new presets, so few of them are useable in my space. If I had time, could ego trip do a much better job digging the gold out of this fine program. No disrespect for the time and effort of the contributors.

No worries at all John, and I actually didn't know you owned Synthmaster or had commented on it.
I was simply replying to Chandler's post and what I had noticed from user comments/posts.

I'll make some time to check out these 300 presets and newer GUI over the weekend.

If you're into recreating classic synth sounds AND you're not interested in programming them yourself, Synthmaster + the Nori Ubukata libraries is the way to go.

OTOH, if you like to roll your own patches, Synthmaster will require a significant investment in time and effort to become comfortable with the UI.

But the same can be said of my go-to synth, U-he Zebra. Because I am not primarily a synthesist, I've elected to put that effort into just one synth (Zebra) and skip Synthmaster and many other worthy products. But if he keeps adding presets at this rate, I may eventually get it anyway and just use it as a ROMpler.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
