Synths that play well with Sonar/CbB

I’ve asked about synths before but now it seems that I have more need to since it looks like we’re loosing some of these with CbB. I am not complaining because I am very excited and thankful for continued support of our beloved.

I have always loved the sounds I get with my old Reason 4.0 but have essentially abandoned it because I LOVE being able to work synths in my DAW. Since to my understanding my Reason 4.0 won’t work in CbB in that way... does anyone have any suggestions on reasonably priced synths out there?

What I like about Reason are the pads, to me the sounds play a lot better in my Rock mixes than our included instruments, they fill in the spaces nicely and aren’t distracting unless you want them to be. While I am not a fan of the “natural” pianos, I am a fan of the natural strings. I actually like the pianos we got from XLN much better.

Thanks guys for any suggestions.

Did you have any earlier versions of Sonar?

There are 1,000's of pad type sounds in the collection most of us have that came with Splat.
I took me a while the other day but I found the perfect old school poly synth the other day.
I landed on the Roland Groove synth 1 and one from Dim pro.
And I also love this little freebie I scored which was my first synth back in the 80's the Poly 800.

Does Reason 4 come with ReWire? Perhaps worth trying.

Seems like another strange question. If a synth that you are interested in is VSTi, VSTi2 or VSTi 3 it will work with BLCake because BLCake supports VSTi. BLCake even supports 32 bit plugs natively which most DAWs do not, so it supports old VSTi synths too. If a VSTi synth doesn't work in Cake it's most likely that the synth does not adhere properly to the VSTi protocol.

Splat, Win 10 64bit and all sorts of musical odds and sods collected over the years, but still missing a lot of my old analogue stuff I sold off years ago.
