TEMPO QUESTION FOR EXPERT

Hi! I have a movie theme that includes several tracks. I have not used the metronome for this one. NOW Now I want to put a certain beat behind my theme. And when I change my tempo to get the beat I want to behind my theme, my clips streches, not all of them, and everything is unsynchronized. MY QUESTION How can I change the tempo WITHOUT my clips streching for nothing ??? ::::::::: I tried LOCK DATA and LOCK POSITION = Bummer, does not work. Thanks...

I know what you are thinking! but your wrong... I'm not a paranoiac!!

Maybe my question wasnt clear enough......... IN FACT :::::::::: I just wanna change the tempo WITHOUT any changes. No STRECH..:::: I don't wanna see my clips running around my composition, i wanna see them where they are, WHILE changing the tempo..... so I can put a beat in the background... HOW DO YOU DO THAT ??? Thanks!

I think you need to use audiosnap for that.

Highlight ALL of your clips and make sure you DON'T have 'Audio Snap' enabled on any of the audio tracks. (track inspector you can disable the audio snap of all tracks highlighted) You should easily be able to manipulate your tempo map without audio stretching with Audio snap off. It's a lot easier to accidentally turn this on from the track view filter (turns it on all clips in track just by looking) After that, lock position and data if you want. Also, you'll want to make sure your markers are locked to realtime as well. Also , you may see what Appears to be stretching of audio while adjusting tempo, but actually it is the Measure/Beat grid showing the 'Grid' stretching and de-stretching, audio staying in place.
